Snyder Equipment has supplied quality products to the railroad industry since 1936. From our early days supplying water delivery systems to steam locomotives to constructing today’s sophisticated rail support equipment, we have developed extensive product lines dedicated to servicing locomotives in both freight and transit operations.


Our offerings include fueling systems, wayside and service track equipment, onboard locomotive components, remanufacturing capabilities, rail-yard expansion/renovation projects, and custom fabrication work.

The History of Snyder Equipment

  • 1936: Established in Baltimore, MD, supplying water delivery systems for steam locomotives
  • 1950s: Manual diesel fueling systems
  • 1960s: Vacuum diesel fueling systems
  • 1970s: Automatic shut-off diesel fueling systems
  • 1970s: Patented SP fuel cranes and 766 locomotive tank adapters
  • 1979: Relocated operations to Springfield, MO (Frisco operations hub)
  • 1989: Moved to Nixa facility
  • 1990s: First ISO certification
  • 2000: Patented N-2000TA tank adapters
  • 2001: Standardized fluid delivery cabinets (water, lube oil, etc.)
  • 2002: Friction management offerings (flange lubrication hardware and lubrication sticks)
  • 2003: Patented HP fuel cranes
  • 2007: Purchased Techtronics Fabrication, Inc. (current Wheatland facility)
  • 2007: Remanufacturing of APUs/Gensets
  • 2009: Remanufacturing of Air Compressors
  • 2013: Established Snyder line of locomotive power supply/charging equipment
  • 2018: Remanufacturing of air dryers
  • 2019: Acquisition by NYAB on March 15, 2019
  • 2019: AAR Certification December 17, 2019
  • 2023 – Consolidated operations into a single expanded facility in Springfield, MO
